How the system assists the surgeon
The surgeon operates from a console, controlling instruments placed through small incisions. A magnified view and articulated instruments can assist work in confined spaces. The operating team remains responsible for every part of the procedure.
The platform is a tool for performing an operation. Its use alone does not establish a better cancer outcome or remove the risks of surgery.

Dr. Sachin’s robotic surgical experience includes da Vinci and SSI Mantra. Platform choice depends on the operation, clinical suitability and equipment available at the treating hospital.
Procedures in Dr. Sachin’s practice
- Radical prostatectomy and selected nerve-preserving approaches.
- Partial nephrectomy or radical nephrectomy for kidney tumours.
- Cystectomy with urinary diversion or reconstruction.
- Adrenal surgery and selected lymph node dissections, including RPLND and VEIL.
- Kidney transplantation and urinary tract reconstruction in suitable cases.

Choosing an approach
Discuss robotic, conventional laparoscopic and open options when applicable. Anatomy, earlier treatment, the complexity of the operation, anaesthetic fitness and the surgeon’s experience all matter.
A change to an open approach may be needed during an operation if that is the safest way to proceed. This possibility belongs in the preoperative discussion.
Risks and recovery
Risks vary by procedure and can include bleeding, infection, injury to nearby structures, anaesthetic complications and the need for further treatment. Device or technical issues are also possible.
Ask about recovery for the specific operation, including catheter or drain care, activity, work and follow-up. A small skin incision does not mean the internal healing is complete.

Does the robot operate independently?
No. The surgical instruments are under the operating surgeon’s control.
Can every urological operation be performed robotically?
No. Suitability depends on the procedure, anatomy, disease and patient. Another approach may be more appropriate.
